Winter

The holidays were very busy for us and seem to be a blur now. Eli is now 3 and a 1/2 and Libby is 18 months. Eli is soaking up life by asking why or how come? He knows more dinosaur names than I knew existed. He has a wild imagination and his teachers tell us he is the ring leader for "make believe" in his classroom. He has two very best friends, Seamus and Carter, and he wanted his Valentine this year to be... Libby. She is into everything. She notices my toenail polish, plays with my hair, wears purses everywhere, and walks around in my shoes all day long. She loves her baby dolls but doesn't hesitate to play cars or dino's with Eli. Both kids love outdoors and bath time.

The big O-N-E!

Our sweet Libby turned ONE august 30th and what a busy time it has been since! Libby has been busy helping us unpack boxes and arrange her new bedroom. In her spare time she can't get enough of her brother. She watches his every move and has the biggest smile on her face whenever he looks her way. She snuggles and loves to give big kisses to mommy and daddy. Her 1st and only word is Eli. She calls his name countless times a day, often searching for him. Her favorite toy is her babydoll that says "mama" and "cries". She loves on her dollbaby, rocks her, and pats her head. She's not a big fan of food so when it came to her birthday cake she didn't really care for it. The look on her face and her brothers clearly shows who was really interested in eating it :) We love you, Libby Lu!

"Roaring" into 3years

Eli is 3years old! We celebrated his birthday night with close friends at Red Robin where they sang happy birthday and brought him a balloon and an ice cream sunday. He gave the ice cream to his friends, but held on tight to the balloon. Mommy and Daddy gave him a shiny red bike hoping he would practice and one day learn. It took about 2 minutes and he was off. He loves it and he's fast. Really fast. Mommy and daddy "run" on our walks now. Eli loves being outside. He loves to pretend play. He has a vivid imagination and often refers to his best pretend friend, Diego. He has a "cuke" and we aren't quite sure what that is, but it's helpful in many ways. Eli doesn't require much sleep; he never has. He's not a fan of art, but will play outside for hours. He loves anything to do with dinosaurs and cars. He still thinks the cats name is "Kaylee". And he has his first girlfriend at school. His birthday party was a dinosaur theme and he's still not too sure of Monte, the life-like dinosaur that "roars" back. He would prefer Monte to "sleep" most of the day. Eli has a gentle soul and loving heart. When we say "love you e-bear"... he always says "love lu too".

"Fish tales" of a toddler

I thought this was going to be a precious video of our daughter dancing for the first time (she's about 3 months behind eli in this developmental milestone, but it's cute nonetheless). I thought it was so adorable that she was wiggling and waving her hands to the beat. I kept the camera rolling when I heard Eli running down the hall, thinking he would join in and it would be very sweet. Not really the case. However, he was so proud of himself, and so serious too. Now, we all know fishing is a sport where boys tend to exaggerate slightly on the size of fish that they caught on a good day of fishing.... this tale is clearly another one.

Bald Head Island vaca

We spent a week on Bald Head Island with 2 other families. Total # of kids=6 : 8months, almost 1, 18months, 2 , 3, and almost 4. To say the least, there was never a dull moment. Eli and Libby had such a good time. We spent the days at the beach, pool and backyard. Eli went crabbing for the first time and Libby decided to walk like a crab most of the time. She was not a fan of the sand. Great company and 2 really good babysitters made for the perfect week! :)

Tug of war with the teether... Eli won.

Eli said "cheese", only briefly taking his eye off the toy train to have Libby snatch it from his lap!
 Huh?
Here are a few updated pics of the little one's. Libby is almost crawling and Eli is keeping us busy, especially outside. He loves soccer and his new sandbox. We've had tons of fun recently at the beach, the children's museum, and various other kid friendly places around Wilmington. Easter weekend was busy. Libby ended up with her first runny nose/fever and felt very under the weather! Eli had 3 egg hunts. The first was his least successful. I forgot to explain the objective prior to the hunt! By the second hunt he understood the more eggs he found, the more candy he was going to get. And boy was he excited! Our most favorite moments are usually in the car. Libby will laugh out loud at Eli. They have their own conversation, or Eli makes up one and she listens. They are extra sweet to each other in the backseat and it makes us smile.
